McAlpine built a 23-storey Hilton hotel in Surrey, which is part of the larger Victoria Square complex but is experiencing issues with its cladding panels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest incident occurred in January after storms “Eowyn” and “Germania” struck within 48 hours of each other, causing the A320 road to remain closed ever since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Woking Council leader Ann-Marie Barker had hoped the road would reopen last month, but on Friday she announced that the reopening would take place later that evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added: “I want to sincerely apologise for all the inconvenience caused by this closure. I understand how incredibly frustrating this has been for residents, businesses, and everyone travelling through Woking. This is not a situation any of us wanted, and I am relieved that we can now expect the restoration of free movement along this key route.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

McAlpine, approached for comment, previously said: “We commissioned a specialist wind load modelling study for the entire building and its surroundings, exceeding standard requirements.
